Allegheny County Council and the City of Pittsburgh proclaims the month of October as Lead Awareness Month in Pittsburgh. The proclamations offered by Councilman Rich Fitzgerald and Mayor Tom Murphy recognize the Lead Safe Pittsburgh Coalition for its collaborative efforts to eliminate lead poisoning.
Lead Awareness Month activities include Be A Lead Detective festivals, bus shelter campaigns featuring boxer Paul Spadafora, IBF lightweight world champion, and an interactive window display at the Hollow Oak Land Trust office in Corapolis.
