Guide to vendor-specific IT security certifications | killexams.com real questions and Pass4sure dumps

Despite the wide selection of vendor-specific information technology security certifications, identifying which...

ones best suit your educational or career needs is fairly straightforward.

This guide to vendor-specific IT security certifications includes an alphabetized table of security certification programs from various vendors, a brief description of each certification and advice for further details.

Introduction: Choosing vendor-specific information technology security certifications

The process of choosing the right vendor-specific information technology security certifications is much simpler than choosing vendor-neutral ones. In the vendor-neutral landscape, you must evaluate the pros and cons of various programs to select the best option. On the vendor-specific side, it's only necessary to follow these three steps:

  • Inventory your organization's security infrastructure and identify which vendors' products or services are present.
  • Check this guide (or vendor websites, for products not covered here) to determine whether a certification applies to the products or services in your organization.
  • Decide if spending the time and money to obtain such credentials (or to fund them for your employees) is worth the resulting benefits.
  • In an environment where qualified IT security professionals can choose from numerous job openings, the benefits of individual training and certifications can be hard to appraise.

Many employers pay certification costs to develop and retain their employees, as well as to boost the organization's in-house expertise. Most see this as a win-win for employers and employees alike, though employers often require full or partial reimbursement for the related costs incurred if employees leave their jobs sooner than some specified payback period after certification.

There have been quite a few changes since the last survey update in 2015. The Basic category saw a substantial jump in the number of available IT security certifications due to the addition of several Brainbench certifications, in addition to the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Cyber Ops certification, the Fortinet Network Security Expert Program and new IBM certifications.

    2017 IT security certification changes

Certifications from AccessData, Check Point, IBM and Oracle were added to the Intermediate category, increasing the total number of certifications in that category, as well. However, the number of certifications in the Advanced category decreased, due to several IBM certifications being retired.

Meet The Top 100 Investors On Forbes Midas List | killexams.com real questions and Pass4sure dumps

Just like every year, Forbes magazine has released the 2017 Midas List including the top 100 tech venture capital investors.

It’s hard for a VC to stay on top of their game. It requires an appetite for risk, immense calculations, and maybe a tiny bit of luck as well.

The podium is taken by Jim Goetz, Partner at Sequoia Capital. He has retained his position at the top of the list from 2016. He’s closely followed by Chris Sacca, founder and Chairman of Lowercase Capital. He’s moved up a position to #2 from last year in the list. Peter Fenton, General Partner at Benchmark Capital, has also made a jump to #3 from last year’s #4.

The fourth and fifth positions are occupied by Steve Anderson and Brian Singerman, respectively. As per a Forbes report, Singerman is the biggest mover this year, making a huge jump from #36 to #5, sitting on the back of his $300 Mn investment in cancer stem cell-targeting drug maker Stemcentrx. The company was acquired last year, allowing Singerman’s company to earn $1.4 Bn in pure profits.

Unlike last year, there’s not a single woman VC in the top five this year. Six women VCs in total made it to the list, namely: Mary Meeker, Rebecca Lynn, Jenny Lee, Theresia Gouw, Ann Miura-Ko, and Kristen Green, the latter three being new additions from 2016. Also, this year, 11 India origin VCs are in the list, representing mastery in the craft of investments.

Additionally, Carl Gordon of OrbiMed has made his way to the top 10, sitting gleefully at #8, up from last year’s #20. The most represented firms still continue to be Sequoia, Benchmark, Greylock and Accel, but new firms are starting to break out as well. Floodgate has two representatives this year, Lightspeed Venture Partners also have three VCs carrying the torch in the list. Nine newcomers have risen to fame this year, with 12 of the 100 being billionaires.

What goes into making the list: Forbes and TrueBridge Capital Partners collect data from publicly available sources as well as through many direct submissions from the firms themselves. Where Midas provides a five-year look-back at a partner’s portfolio, with exits by IPO or acquisition of $200 Mn and above, and private holdings that raised money at valuations of $400 Mn or more over that time period.

[The list is in the order of their ranking as per Forbes Midas. The information has been sourced from websites such as Wikipedia, investors’ LinkedIn profiles, and Crunchbase.]

    Overview

In today's business environment, being able to respond to changing market needs is a prerequisite to being competitive. However, the delivery of new products and services often drives up IT costs in the form of new applications, IT infrastructure, and support staff. As a result, companies have been forced to be more selective in their business pursuits, often forgoing projects that would have required changes to IT infrastructure. New on demand automation solutions from IBM help companies leverage their existing IT assets to become more agile and responsive to the business.

IBM Tivoli® Provisioning Manager allows you to create, customize, and quickly utilize best-practice automation workflows. Prebuilt workflows provide control and configuration of many vendors' products, while customized workflows can implement your company's datacenter best practices and procedures. Additional automation workflows can be obtained from the IBM Orchestration and Provisioning Automation Library (OPAL), an online repository where customers, Business Partners, and ISVs can publish and share workflows for automation. The IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager also includes DB2 Universal Database® Enterprise Server Edition V8.2 with Fix Pack 7A, IBM Tivoli Directory Server 5.2, and components of IBM WebSphere® Application Server V5.1.1.3
